BAGGAGE Week 4

THE BAGGAGE OF WORRY

Worry - merimnao (mer-im-nah'-o)  to be anxious about: to divide the mind.

WORRY ERODES FAITH.

WORRY FEEDS FEAR.

WORRY DESTROYS HEALTH.

WORRY STEALS JOY.

Philippians 4:6-8  Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.   New Living

GETTING RID OF THE BAGGAGE OF WORRY

Philippians 4:6   Don't worry about anything…..

WORRY IS UNREASONABLE.    Matthew 6:25  "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?     NIV

WORRY IS UNNATURAL.    Matthew 6:26   Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?    NIV

WORRY IS UNHELPFUL.   Matthew 6:28    And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.   NIV

WORRY IS UNNECESSARY.     Matthew 6:30    If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?   NIV

2.  TALK TO GOD ABOUT EVERYTHING.

Phillipians 4:8   And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.    New Living

Matthew 6:33    33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.       NIV
